Carbon Fibre Material

The Study

At URBAN Automotive, we specialise in creating and manufacturing body kits made out of carbon fibre.  In order for my 3D renders to cover what we offer, I tasked myself with the challenge to create 2 new carbon fibre materials to use in future renders: chopped carbon fibre and camouflage carbon fibre.  

To save time, I started with taking good reference images of the 2 carbon fibre types.  These are flat plates we currently use as decorative items.  I took a variety of pictures from the same angle under different lighting conditions.  This would allow  Adobe Substance Sampler  to work to a better effect.
